The Caregiver is responsible for providing supportive services to residents in an assisted living community by ensuring that residents are clean and safe, consistent with established standards. General responsibilities include, but are not limited to, general daily assistance to residents on their personal care needs.

NOTE: This position is a part-time, 24 hours per week, weekends and Monday.

Responsibilities

• The Resident Assistant assists residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, partial dressing and medication assistance.
• Observes records and reports any changes in the resident’s physical or mental condition.
• Interacts with residents and families/responsible parties and staff; answers questions, gives direction and support
• Works in the communal dining room serving meals, drinks, cleaning and setting up tables.
• Responds to resident requests in a timely manner
• Acts as a mandatory reporter for all suspected abuse situations and complies with all HIPAA standards of practice
• May assist at covering of the front desk at times, as needed.
• The Resident Assistant performs any other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, colleagues and supervisors
• Must be able to participate in meetings as necessary
• Ability to read, speak well and be understood in the English language
• Some experience working with elderly or on a senior community setting.
• Team work

• High school diploma or equivalent
